Rebates & Incentives for Residential Alternative Energy Projects!

Colorado is setting the standard nationwide as a leading provider of clean, renewable energy by requiring large investor owned utilities to obtain 30% of their power from renewable sources by 2020. Governor Bill Ritter signed the legislation on March 22, 2010 noting that the new standard makes it the "best in the Rocky Mountain West" and one of the highest in the nation.

In order to achieve the mandated 30%, Coloradoans have a unique, once in a lifetime, opportunity to have up to 50% of the installation cost of their alternative energy project covered by various rebates and incentives.  Equally important is the fact that the investment you make in your alternative energy project will protect you from rising electricity prices for years to come, while offering a better return than many other investments today.  Plus, it's very rewarding to watch your meter “spin backward,” see your utility bills slashed or eliminated, and add value to your home... all while knowing you are doing the right thing for the environment!

Alt E Wind & Solar will happily manage the entire rebate process for you from start to finish.  Outlined below are some of the rebates and incentives available to you.

Residential Solar Electric (Photovoltaic) Incentives:

Xcel Energy Rebates
Xcel incentive amounts will step down over time as certain MW targets are met.  Incentive amounts are reflected as of 01/12/2016:

  • Systems sized between 25.1 kW – 500.0 kW DC there is no upfront cash rebate.  Instead Xcel pays $0.04 per kWh of actual production (paid monthly for 20 years), in addition to the savings on your electric bill.
  • Systems larger than 500.0 kW DC the incentive will be determined through competitive bid process.
